    Reid on Bolton

Yesterday Harry Reid (D-NV) had some comments to say about the Bolton nomination. He continues to raise many valid questions that the Bush administration continues to not answer. Global Ecological Collapse? Human damage to Earth worsening fast

The Earth is not in good shape right now. In fact if things keep going the way they are right now we can pretty much be assured that there will be no habitable place for future generations. I have no doubt there are plenty of nay-sayers who think everything will be just fine if we do not take action - they are wrong - dead wrong.

The UN has released the findings of a significant study by more than 1300 scientists and economist in 95 countries. The findings? Take a look and see for yourself. Essentially it comes down to this - for future sustainability both environmentally and economically we are going to have to change our way of life to let the ecosystems of the Earth thrive without damaging them and develop ways to consume less and co-exist better (meaning less intrusively) with our environment. The report is not a complete doomsday scenario - solutions are proffered in the accompanying reports and website, Millenium Ecosystem Assessment.

There are a couple of places to read a synopsis of it including the Christian Science Monitor, A Productive, but Taxed Earth and CNET news, Report: Human damage to Earth worsening fast.
