    Alexis de Tocqueville

    Alexis de Tocqueville

“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”

    – Alexis de Tocqueville

    H. L. Mencken

I saw this quote today. I’ve seen it before and anything by H. L. Mencken is good insight even now. If only we had a Mencken for our time.
